Lakeview Haven

Beautiful lake view, but safety & maintenance concerns. Lakeview Haven has a beautiful setting, and my family enjoyed being together, but future guests should know a few things first.Safety: We found a locked gun safe in the downstairs kitchenette, accessible to my 13-year-old nephew and other kids in our group (ages 7–12). We moved it ourselves to a separate room and told the host. It shouldn’t have been left somewhere accessible to children. We also had a bear come close to the house one early morning — guests should be prepared for wildlife.Maintenance: The hot tub’s control panel showed the water change was overdue by 254 days.Layout: One bedroom is in a separate structure with no attached bathroom — using it overnight means walking outside, which felt riskier given the bear activity.Condition: A bed had structurally bent legs and was unsupportive. Part of the living room floor had visible air bubbles. Furniture and bedding were low quality. One toilet sat so close to the wall it was uncomfortable to use.Note: The host asked directly for a 5-star review, stating anything less “is treated as a sign the stay was not good enough” and can “significantly affect small businesses and homeowners like us.” Tying honesty to their finances felt coercive. I’m leaving an honest account instead — future guests deserve accurate information.

This house was nestled right above the lake with stunning views. This is our 5th annual BassLake trip and I have to say top two best stays as of yet. This cabin has plenty of sleeping room and many levels to the property to explore. We utilized every aspect the property had to offer and to be only walking distance downhill to the dock was perfect. The youngetsers enjoyed the doc as we prepared meals. The store, boat rentals and burger joint was all walking a distance. I would love to utilize this property again if available next year. Oh yeah, every room was equipt with it own AC which made sleeping AMAZING!

Beautiful property and view! The house was perfect for our large group and the kids thoroughly enjoyed the game room while the adults enjoyed the hot tub! We had a wonderful time!

This is a very nice property, with incredible lake views and lake access. The property is well maintained, and comfortable. We felt it was very family friendly, and spent a lot of time on the deck having meals. The griddle that is on the deck is an excellent place to cook and serve large family meals. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lakeview Haven!
